I am a Clinical Psychologist, who loves to help people create a lasting sense of happiness, meaning, and wellbeing in their lives. I believe that health constitutes a state of relative balance between all the "strains" put on our system (e.g. daily life stressors, losses, demands, obligations, negative life events, etc.) and the physical, mental, spiritual and relational resources we have available to us to draw upon. In therapy, I work with people to identify "where there is too much energy in their lives, and where the energy is missing," in order to help them create more harmonious, full, and vibrant life. Teaching clients how to be present in their lives and how to replace emotional reactiveness with awareness and responsiveness to life problems is one of the cornerstones of my approach.
I am deeply committed to the empowerment and growth of my clients. I strive to create a safe and accepting atmosphere to lay the path for change and growth. I work in a very collaborative manner, tailoring my approach to each individual's needs and goals. My theoretical orientation can be described as integrative and holistic, drawing from the emotion-focused, experiential, humanistic, cognitive behavioral, Gestalt, and family systems approaches.
Currently I see patients residing in the Davidson and Lake Norman area of North Carolina including Huntersville and Mooresville through virtual therapy.
I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, worry and stress, PTSD, infertility, post-partum depression, grief/loss, military lifestyle issues, immigrant issues, self-esteem issues, among many other concerns. I have extensive experience and enjoy working with college students. I also enjoy working with persons identifying as LGBTQ. I provide skill training in mindfulness, meditation, emotion modulation, and self-compassion.
In my private life, I strive to "practice what I teach," therefore my passions are geared towards building a balanced life for myself and my family. I love traveling, exploring new places on foot and bike, spending time in nature, relaxing with my beloved cats, meditating, practicing yoga, and experimenting with creative cooking.
